Torabhaig Distillery is the first new distillery on the Isle of Skye in 190 years, and the second distillery on the island at all. Torabhaig was founded as recently as 2017 after years of renovations to the former farm that stood there before.
Torabhaig's mission is to create smoky yet elegant whiskies, which is made possible by their custom-built stills, as well as by precise control of the heat of distillation and the timing of the heart of the still. The secret lies in distilling slowly, removing the heart early and finishing relatively early too.
Torabhaig's Global Brand Ambassador will present issues 2–4 in the series The Legacy Series – the distillery's development from the start towards their 10th anniversary, which will be launched in 2028. In addition, we will get to taste some whiskies from Mossburn Distillery & Blenders Ltd, an independent whisky blender company that both blends its own blended whiskies and also sells a selection of independent bottlings from famous Scottish distilleries.
