On September 29th it's time for another whiskey tasting!
Then we will be visited by Svenska Eldvatten, a well-known Gothenburg-based independent bottler of whiskey and other spirits!
Since their inception in 2011, they have released a total of 118 bottlings of single cask whisky, most of which come from renowned Scottish distilleries.
Svenska Eldvatten's guiding principle is to bottle whisky that is unusually good and has an exciting character in relation to what a particular distillery usually produces.
During the tasting we will enjoy a complete set (of six bottles) of the ”Eldvatten 10th Anniversary” series. A series that commemorates that in May 2021 it was 10 years since Svenska Eldvatten released its first whisky at Systembolaget.
The tasting will be conducted half-blind; exactly what is hidden in each glass we will find out continuously during the tasting. Those who wish can of course google which whiskies are included in the series, but for those who only want to know a little in advance, it concerns only single casks at cask strength, smoked as well as unsmoked, an age range of 9-20 years, and bourbon-aged, sherry-aged, and wine-aged.
Samuel Lindlöf is conducting the test. Since October 2019, he has been Svenska Eldvatten's test leader in the Stockholm region. He has been active as a test leader since 2011. This is what Svenska Eldvatten writes about Samuel:
