It starts already in January. A door opens, not to a room, but to a series of evenings where glass clinks like little secrets and time softens around us.
At Ardbeg Embassy, we gather month after month to continue the adventure that began in a Scottish kitchen in the 80s, when a few friends discovered what single casks could really do to a person. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society was born out of curiosity, friends and a lemonade bottle filled with sherry-like magic. That first shock of pure, undiluted taste — we carry it forward every time we meet.
That's why every tasting here in Stockholm feels like a new chapter in the same book: one that always smells of oak, ideas and good stories.
In the spring of 2026, we will hold our tastings in our usual location, in the safe walls of Ardbeg Embassy, where the warmth of the bar and the chatter of whisky people form the perfect backdrop. Always at 6:00 PM, always on the last Thursday of the month — as a promise to put the world on pause for a while and let the flavors take over.
Here is your calendar for spring:
• January 29, 2026
• February 26, 2026
• March 26, 2026
• April 23, 2026
• May 28, 2026
• June 25, 2026
As usual, SMWS members get their whisky at a reduced price, and the tasting fee is 500/550 SEK. The discount is, as it should be, on the SMWS whisky itself. For questions, bookings or just shouts of joy, Ardbeg Embassy is at info@ardbegembassy.se.
Each date is just a headline right now — but you know we'll fill them with themes, dram choices, and little stories that emerge as we see which bottlings land. Until then, this is your reminder to reserve the evenings where we return to the simple: whiskey in its purest form, people in their most curious state, and an adventure that continues as long as someone raises a glass.
And when you put these dates in your calendar, you're saving more than times and places. These are evenings that want to become memories. Evenings where we together drive the SMWS journey forward — one drama, one story, one bout of laughter at a time.
Spring 2026 is not about filling the seats. It is about creating energy. About letting Ardbeg Embassy become the place where more people than ever discover what single cask can do to the atmosphere in a room. We are going for a spring that pulses with curiosity, laughter, knowledge and that special glow that only occurs when the whisky, the people and the moment are completely in sync.
So save the dates, lock the calendar, and invite those who should be there. We'll raise our glasses in January and let the rest of spring be a showcase of how high we can aim when we do it together.
Now we're making spring 2026 the season that breaks all records — not out of luck, but out of pure whisky joy.

At Agitator in Arboga, the distillers are driven by new thinking and innovation, which Oskar Bruno set the standard for when the distillery began construction in 2015.
Instead of classic boilers, specially made vacuum boilers from Italy were installed to be able to boil the spirit slowly at a low temperature, and thus retain as much flavor as possible.
During the tasting, Oskar will tell us more about Agitator's methods but above all guide us through 7 products from both limited editions and Agitator's regular range. In addition to whiskey, two types of rum will also be included in the tasting.
We're trying this this Saturday afternoon:

Ardbeg Embassy, Old Town
On April 29th, we invite you to a rare and very exclusive whiskey tasting with Glenfiddich.
During the evening we will sample 12 different Glenfiddichs, all of which are unique sample bottles sold only at the distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. These bottlings rarely leave the distillery and are virtually impossible to find on the open market.
You will experience everything from exceptional casks and older aging to powerful whisky at natural strength, straight from Glenfiddich's own warehouses.
The tasting is led by David Francis, who guides us through the history of the distillery, the craftsmanship behind the whiskey, and the unique casks we sample during the evening.
This is an evening for true whisky lovers – and an opportunity to try something that is almost never served outside the distillery.

The Macallan Classic Cut series is an annual celebration of The Macallan's pursuit of intensity, craftsmanship and flavour. Since its launch in 2017, each limited edition has been bottled at the Master Whisky Maker's preferred high strength, highlighting a bold, concentrated character unique to that year's expression.
Each release showcases a unique flavor profile shaped by carefully selected barrels — a hallmark of The Macallan's expertise in combining sherry-seasoned European and American oak with ex-bourbon casks to create impressive richness, complexity and natural colour.
What makes Classic Cut special is the dynamic flavor development: each whisky reveals new layers of vanilla, citrus, fruit, spice or dessert-like sweetness — depending on the vintage. The series is created for enthusiasts who love to explore character, depth and the extraordinary
The tasting manager tonight is Jonas Gram.

The story begins in 2005, when ten enthusiasts decided to follow in Mackmyra’s footsteps and create their own Swedish whisky. During a whisky journey, they found the perfect location in the village of Gammelstilla in Hofors municipality – a place rich in history, dating back to the 17th century ironworks and with access to clean, high-quality water.
The first drops of raw spirit flowed from the Swedish-made copper stills in 2012. Since then, Gammelstilla has developed into an established name in Swedish whisky, with several exciting bottlings – including aging for up to 12 years.
During the day we sample a selection of their whisky and gain insight into the craftsmanship, passion and history behind each bottle.
Welcome to a day filled with taste, stories and Swedish whisky tradition.
We will try 7 different whiskeys.

An evening above the clouds A whisky tasting with Michele from the heart of the Dolomites, Villa de Varda
Italian whiskey — a craft that follows no rules, just a family's passion.
Welcome to an intimate tasting with Michele from Villa de Varda — a family distillery deeply rooted in the Italian Dolomites, where over 170 years of distilling tradition meets something truly unique.
Their InQuota mountain whiskies are made from rye and barley grown at high altitudes, distilled with pure glacial water from the Brenta Dolomites and aged in extraordinary casks — from rare Dolomite spruce to Amarone and Passito di Pantelleria casks — with each cask telling its own story about the landscape.
This is Italian whisky like you've never tasted before. Floral, fruity, balsamic and deeply rooted in its place.
In the heart of Trentino, the Dolzan family has been transforming grapes into liquid tradition for over two centuries. What began in the 19th century with great-grandfather Romedio has been carried on, generation after generation, right up to today's sixth generation of the family at the stills.
Their philosophy, Metodo de Varda, is simple but profound — to bring out the noblest qualities of the grape, from careful selection through distillation to aging. The result? A grappa that not only tastes exceptional, but also tells a story.
But the Dolzan family doesn’t stop at grappa. They are also one of the first Italian whisky producers — a bold and visionary step that shows that their passion for distillation extends far beyond the traditional. Now Michele Dolzan is here to present their latest project: a 100% Italian whisky, from grain to bottle, imbued with the same dedication that has defined the family for generations.
This isn't just grappa. It's a family's life's work, poured into every bottle
Come curious. Leave with a new favorite.
